Prevention Network was originally formed to meet community needs in the areas of alcohol and other substance abuse. It has evolved into one of New York State’s largest community-based agencies focused exclusively on prevention and early intervention issues. The following are brief descriptions of programs offered through Prevention Network to the community at large. Click any program title for additional information.

Educational Presentations & Health Fairs cover many different topics and can be tailored to any organizations needs.

Chemical People – Prevention Network offers mini-grants, up to $300, for projects benefiting youth ages 9-14 years of age.

Drinking Driver Program is a seven-week, 16-hour course offered at Prevention Network through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) designed to educate DWI and DWAI offenders about the dangers of using alcohol and driving.

Victim Impact Panel is contracted to Prevention Network through the Onondaga County STOP DWI Program, with the goal of impacting participants with the reality of the consequences of their decision to drive under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

DSS-TANF Screening involves Prevention Network staff in the intake process for the Department of Social Services (DSS) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF.)

Underage Drinking Action Council is comprised of professionals, parents, teens, and community individuals working together to end underage drinking.
